Laura Charpentier

Laura Charpentier
General Manager

At the end of her international studies in management and entrepreneurship, Laura decided to settle down in Montreal in order to evolve in the sector of social economy. In 2015, during her first job in the field of residual matters, she was selected to participate to the 6 months’ internship in “Urban Apiculture, melliferous horticulture and eco-citizenship” at Miel Montreal. This training allowed her to have solid theoretical knowledge and practical skills regarding biodiversity in urban environment. It also strengthens her will to work with the cooperative. In April 2016 she joined Miel Montreal and later she became the general director.

Elsa Angers

Educational Coordinator 

Passionate about social and environmental project, Elsa undertook a Bachelor in Communications in Human Relations to deepen her understanding on those subject. There, she discovers cooperatives as a new business model to answer environmental issues. It is at the end of an internship in Nicaragua at a cooperative specialize in rural tourism, that her professional project emerges: she wants to contribute to the development of solidarity initiatives in social economy. She decides to pursue classes in venture marketing to sharpen her skills in the field. Ever since, she takes pleasure in putting her competence in the service of companies that share her values and interest.

Gregory Lynch
Administrator

Gregory have a mater from the University of Luxembourg in sustainable development with a speciality in energy and environment. he has over 10 years of experience in animation with non-profitable organizations, companies, families, farms and students from all ages in Canada and elsewhere. In addition of running his company, Mantis Environement, Gregory is managing the hives and the training from the cooperative.

Virginie Michaud

Instructor

Biologist in preservation and in education on environment, Virgine Michaud has a Bachelor degree in Sciences with a major in biological sciences. Tutor and lecturer, she shares her knowledge with passion and aim to inspire citizen engagement. Co-founder of the collective hives RUBARB and trainer in apiculture with Miel Montreal, coordinator of “Save the Bees” program of the Sierra Club, Virginie knows how to develop projects form humans scale to global challenges that we face. She defines herself as utopian, pragmatic and enthusiastic.

Gabrielle Lamontagne-Hallé

Co-spokeswoman

Gabrielle has a Bachelor in journalism she gradually raise interest for the stakes of urban apiculture through Montreal par la racine, a show dedicated to urban agriculture she produced and presented for four years on radio CIBL. After two years as project manager at “ENvironnement JEUnesse”, an education organism on environment, she is now working as adviser in environment at Cégep of Montreal.

Gregory Lynch
Treasurer

Charlène Daubenfeld

Administrator

Charlène has a master in management and marketing of ESC Grenoble, France. She has over 6 years of experience in communication in the private sector and in OBNL that allowed her to work and a large number of mandate, whether it is on event planning or project development. Sensitive to challenges of conservation and protection of biodiversity, Charlène is now working for the SNAP Quebec, a non-governmental organisation in environment.

Céline Palhol

Administrator

Celine has been working in the financial sector for over 20 years. She has a master in finance in the University of Paris II and a MBA from UQAM, she also is a member of the order of the CPA. From 2000 until 2007, she worked with organism supporting entrepreneurship and economic environment in Montreal. Later in 2007-2008, she realized an entrepreneurship project in Benin. She the was employed for 9 years in a big cooperative financing firm. Since 2017, she is principal advisor, transactional analyst and at the direction of “Risque de la Caisse des Dépôts de Placement au Québec”. She joined Miel Monteal in 2019 as she deeply care about the preservation of biodiversity and about bees in particular.

Marie-Anne Viau

Administrator

Since her fist collective garden 10 years ago, Marie-Anne feel in love with urban agriculture for its plurality and as a way to connect nature to cities. She dived into the bees’ universe thanks to Miel Montreal, where in 2013 she was an animator for a scientific workshop, before she became an independent beekeeper. Biologist, she has been handling the agricultural program of Santropol Roulant for 2 years. She wants to keep growing beautiful agro-ecosystems by planting ideas a bit everywhere through this powerful tool that is education.
